Foshan, China, 20 October, 2023 - On the afternoon of October 20, Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Chancheng District of Foshan held the Kitchen King Competition Award ceremony with the theme of "Cantonese Flavour, Lingnan Heritage". Marco Polo Lingnan Tiandi Foshan presented dish "Crispy Pigeon" was awarded the most Lingnan braised marinade title; Chinese Executive Chef Samuel Guo won the Gold medal of Cantonese Cuisine King Chef of 2023.
Chancheng District, where the hotel is located, attaches great importance to the "Cantonese chef" project. It is reported that this competition is the first time the Chancheng District Cantonese King Chef competition, with 30 Cantonese cuisine chefs competing on the same stage, and a total of 58 exquisite dishes were selected. The selection criteria of the "most Lingnan" dishes combine the current consumption hot spots loved by the public and also aim to extend the Cantonese dishes.
Crispy pigeon is a popular dish at the Lingnan Private Cuisine, Cantonese-style restaurant of the hotel. It cooked in multiple processes with the outer skin is crispy and golden, the inner juice is fragrant and tender, the shape and colour are both good, and the taste is infinite. The award-winning Chinese executive chef, Samuel Guo, has been named "Chancheng Celebrity Chef" and "Highly skilled Talents with outstanding contributions", and has been recognized as a four-star Cantonese Chef by the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Guangdong Province. Chef Guo led his team to participate in many competitions and won many honors, such as the Best Creative Award from the Chinese Cooking Chef Skills Competition, the first prize from the Chinese Cooking Chef Professional Skills Competition team, and the third prize from the Craftsman group of the Greater Bay Area Cantonese Cuisine Chef Skills Competition.
