Earth Hour is a global energy-saving initiative proposed by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in response to global climate change. WWF advocates that on the last Saturday of March each year at 20:30 local time, individuals, communities, businesses, and governments voluntarily participate in turning off unnecessary lighting and power-consuming products for one hour to show their concern for nature conservation and support for environmental protection.
Hotel’s “Save Green, Coffee Grounds Cycle Program” runs from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on March 21-23. Guests can collect free coffee grounds at The Verandah on the second floor of the hotel. Coffee grounds can remove odours, exfoliate skin, and be used to grow plants.
On Saturday, March 23rd, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, Marco Polo Wuhan remained minimal lighting in the public areas of the hotel. Hotel guests are invited to join us in this initiative by switching off unnecessary power-consuming devices in their rooms during this time to demonstrate their support for global action on climate change. Additionally, guests can visit The Verandah on the second floor of the hotel to witness the recycling of coffee grounds and pot plants free of charge and dedicate an hour to the Earth.
