Assistant Director of Finance

Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel

Responsibility

  • Monitor the cost and performance of various departments and advise Area Director Finance for any comments and recommendations
  • Counsel and discipline colleagues, identify the needs of their training and development
  • Monitor the collection and preparation of all statistical data; submit the monthly, quarterly & yearly reports
  • Keep track on the profit and loss situation of all departments by maintaining proper internal controls and auditing procedures
  • Review draft capital expenditure budget & operating budget, forecast, tax position and audit reports
  • Supervise the closing of books at financial month and year end as well as the preparation of financial statements
  • Monitor with the year-ended audit, tax return filing and retirement plans valuation; liaise with external auditors, Inland Revenue Department and consultants
  • Review & initial the terms and conditions of services agreements / contracts with suppliers / travel agents / companies
  • Review & approve purchase request in CheckSCM, petty cash and CLMS
  • Review the daily exchange rate report and daily banking summary
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance/related disciplines
  • Qualifications or professional certifications issued by HKICPA, ACCA or other equivalent organisations
  • At least 8 years relevant experience from hospitality operations, of which 3 years at managerial level
  • Good communication skills in Chinese and English
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
