Director of Catering and Banquets
Marco Polo Plaza, Cebu
Responsibility
- Assist the Director of Sales and Marketing in formulating a yearly strategic sales plan for banquet sales by analyzing the market trend, hotel business survey and past year's sales record. She will monitor and evaluate the plan on regular basis.
- Search for potential companies and prepare a sales call schedule to tackle this market.
- Compile weekly sales call plan.
- Maintain sales record by updating it on regular basis.
- Attend regular sales meeting and report the catering activities
- Handle VIP Accounts and other accounts as assigned.
- Answer clients' inquiries and provide banquet information such as menus, beverage, set up and other miscellaneous arrangement.
- Prepare menu proposal and discuss details with clients professionally, use upselling sales techniques to attain more revenue.
- Liaise with all concerned departments prior to the function to ensure everything is in order.
- See feedback from clients and report to Director of Sales and Marketing for future improvement.
- Represent the hotel during functions when necessary.
- Entertain potential and corporate clients on regular basis to ensure new and repeat business.
- Conduct regular survey of competitor hotels on banquet and food and beverage.
- Attain up-to-date information so as to formulate a better position in market.
- Be actively involved in the production of hotel events and promotions for banquet department.
Qualifications
Education: Tertiary education, preferably with hotel school training.Certification: Catering school certificate is an advantage.
Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience relevant to the job.
Other: Should have F & B knowledge, particularly in banqueting, selling skills, communication and social skills.
English and local dialect.
