Director of Revenue Management

Responsibility

  • Maximizes net room revenue contribution through a thorough understanding of all booking channels and management of inventory and rates, ensuring that revenues and yields are optimized to achieve set targets.
  • Controls the input of rate codes into the reservations system to ensure quality information.
  • Conducts continuous analysis of changing channel distribution models and their impact on consumer booking trends, ensuring the hotel is presented competitively and up to date.
  • Operationalizes hotel and corporate pricing strategies through the management of rate levels, stay restrictions, and tactics that align with demand factors across all distribution channels.
  • Maintains rates that promote integrity and protect long-term customer value.
  • Monitors the performance of Sales Managers through OPMS and reports results to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Responsible for configuration, forecast validation, and daily interaction with MarketVision.
  • Works with the Reservations team to determine effective rate offers (packages) for the right customers through the right channels.
  • Monitors booking pace to determine pricing and availability controls for all reservation distribution sources and implements necessary changes.
  • Completes rooms and revenue forecasting to accurately project unconstrained demand.
  • Tracks and analyzes competitive set pricing and yield strategies to predict reactions to market changes.
  • Participates in strategic planning, marketing, and budgeting processes.
  • Prepares materials for weekly Revenue Management meetings, following Marco Polo Hotel guidelines.
  • Provides guided learning to ensure all hotel areas impacting revenue are aware of RM strategies and their roles in the plan.
  • Maintains accurate and complete reservation records.
  • Optimizes rooms revenue through effective management and supervision of reservations staff.
  • Advises the Front Office Manager of noteworthy reservations for decision-making regarding room rates and VIP status.
  • Trains reservation personnel in upselling techniques to maximize revenue.
  • Stays informed about hotel allotments and follows up on contract conditions and cutoff dates.
  • Sets the overbooking margin for normal and peak periods to ensure full occupancy.
  • Trains reservation staff on hotel facilities when handling inquiries.
  • Attends daily sales briefings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, depending on operational requirements.

Qualifications

  • Degree holder in Hotel and Business Administration.
  • 5 years of experience in Revenue Management, including a leadership role, knowledge of market trends, and multi-property experience.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis, strategic planning, data interpretation, leadership, and communication are essential.
  • Management experience with a proven ability to lead and motivate in a complex, deadline-driven environment.
